
What is Pulmicort?
It is an inhaled medication containing an active ingredient called Budesonide. This medication belongs to a group of drugs called corticosteroids. It works to reduce and prevent lung swelling and inflammation.

What are the different forms of Pulmicort?
Pulmicort is prescribed in two forms: Pulmicort suspension for inhalation via a nebulizer. Pulmicort is also available as a dry powder for inhalation similar to a single-dose inhaler.
What is the recommended dose of Pulmicort?
(1) Adults and children (13 years and older): The usual dose is one to two inhalations per day. Your doctor may increase this dose to a maximum of 1600 micrograms daily.
(2) Children (5-12 years): Your doctor may increase the dose to a maximum of 800 micrograms daily.
What do you need to know before starting Pulmicort treatment?
Before using budesonide as an inhaler, make sure your doctor knows the following:
